As New Year's Eve approaches we are getting more and more excited!! If you have any questions please email email@example.com and Andy will get back to you, but please read below first!
Tulum is a very small community in Mexico about 90 miles or 2 hours drive from Cancun airport. The exact location is Caleta Tankah, Tulum, Mexico.
ECOLOGICAL and SOCIAL PRESERVATION
The beach where the event is taking place is a sensitive ecological area and even though we are not the first to have an event here, we are taking special care to ensure that we do not harm the area. We will be building bamboo decking over turtle nesting areas, and everything that can be will be served in organic, untreated materials (so quesadillas will come on papaya leaves rather than paper plates, and cocktails will come in coconuts rather than plastic cups). We are also employing hundreds of local artists, magicians, yogis, bakers, popsicle makers, bartenders, and technicians for the event, and seek to reflect the deep love we have for Tulum and Mexico as a whole in how we treat the environment and the community. We ask that everyone attending the event do the same.
TO GET TO TULUM FROM CANCUN
Many hotels provide free transfers from the airport to Tulum, but if yours does not, there is a bus service which costs approximately $17 USD, and is very safe and easy to use. Find out more here: www.ado.com.mx
You can also hire a driver here: www.acerewwwntacar.com
Or rent a car very inexpensively at the airport! The road from Cancun to Tulum is safe and modern, and has a heavy police presence.
WHERE TO STAY
Since Tulum is so small, it can sometimes be hard to find a hotel (there are still rooms available!). As an alternative, there some great apartments and houses on Airbnb! However, if you can't find anything, Playa del Carmen is less than 30 minutes away and is much larger, with more (and less expensive) hotel rooms. A taxi from Playa del Carmen is around 25 USD and can be pre-booked. Also, if you've rented a car, we have a parking lot a few minutes walk from the site of the concert.
Very inexpensive places to stay in Playa del Carmen here:
This bus also goes from Playa del Carmen to Tulum and is safe, clean, and cheap: www.ado.com.mx
+WHERE TO PICK UP TICKETS
There is a will call at the site on the day of the event, but to avoid the lines, go to one of the satellite pick up locations set up by the ticketing company. For any problems hit up @SuperboletosMx on Twitter, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU NEED THE CREDIT CARD USED TO BUY YOUR TICKETS AND YOUR ID TO PICK UP YOUR TICKETS.
MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
+The party is actually on the beach, so bring your normal beach supplies (but of course no outdoor food or drinks!)
+The party will run from 8PM until 10AM (or later), and we will only list set times the day before- bands are not playing in any order based on who is bigger, so don't think the biggest bands will be last
+When the sunrises you will see we are all ringing in 2014 in the most beautiful place in the world
+There will be food and drinks sold all night and day as well as items you may have left behind (ie towels, hats, sunscreen)
